Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults. An innovative researcher and recipient of a MacArthur Foundation fellowship, Dr. Mary Tinetti transformed the prevailing view of falls from an inevitable consequence of aging to a preventable event with multiple risk factors that can be identified and controlled. There are things we can do to decrease our risk of falling and improve our mobility. Dr. Tinetti is the Gladys Philips Crofoot Professor of Medicine and Public Health, and Chief of Geriatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine. All are welcome.
